Sodexo - Kings College Hospital

As part of our framework agreement with Sodexo, Ftec were instructed to carry out a large amount of work mechanical works at King's College Hospital, including repairing faults with the air handling units and replacing frost coils in various plant rooms.

 

The coils had reached the end of their durable life and under life cycle budgets were required to be replaced.

 

Some of these coils were critical to the continued operation of the hospital. Therefore, care needed to be taken in the scheduling of replacements.

 

Following a consultation meeting, a programme was formed so that the work could be completed without disruptions to the functioning of this live environment. This programme produced a contract that was efficiently controlled and delivered.

 

The flow and return from the heating had to be isolated and pipe work removed. The coils were then replaced and the pipework reinstated.

 

Following the replacement of the pipework, lagging was re-installed and water supplies re-commissioned.
